Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Assist instructors in planning and delivering meaningful activities for students from K–Grade 12.
- Cultural Leadership: Act as a cultural liaison between families and Elders , and reinforce Cree language, values, and traditions.+1
- Land-Based Duties: Work outdoors in all weather conditions , demonstrating skills in fire safety, shelter building, hunting, fishing, or crafting.+2
- Safety & Supervision: Maintain situational awareness of children, tools, and surroundings , and ensure tool competency and safety.+1
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Knowledge of local territory and teachings ; experience in land-based or Cree language activities.+1
- Physical Ability: Must be physically capable of lifting 40 lbs. or more and possess high endurance.
- Credentials: * Educational Assistant Diploma, Native Studies, or related experience.
- Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License.
- Clean Criminal Record and Child Welfare Checks.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and strong communication/coordination skills.+1
