Please be advised that a Fire Advisory is now in effect for the Lac La Biche Forest Protection Area effective May 6, 2026.
Under the advisory:
• No new fire permits will be issued for heavy fuel burning, including windrows and machine-piled brush piles.
• All other fire permit requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Current fire permits remain valid.
• Previous burn sites should be checked to ensure fires are fully extinguished.
• Extra caution is advised during windy conditions.
• Small, safe cooking and warming fires (campfires) are still permitted.
Residents are reminded to stay alert and practice fire safety at all times. If you see smoke or flames in the forest and suspect a wildfire, call 310-FIRE or 911 immediately.
